About Chicken

Domestic chickens are a subspecies of red junglefowl (Gallus gallus), a species native to southern Asia. Here at the farm we keep chicken for meat and for eggs. We house our chickens in a large chicken coop that has space for scalability as the chicken brood/ flock grows in sizes. Currently there are 12 specially designed nests for the hens to lay eggs and broody to hatch without interference fromm other hens

Chickens Diet

Birds raised for meat and poultry kept for eggs require different diets. Typically, backyard and small farm chickens raised for eggs can eat appropriate food scraps from the farm household in addition to feed. Meat birds raised indoors or on a pasture are small, but voracious eaters, and require mostly high-protein feed to reach top weight efficiently. The feed needs to be monitored to help the birds avoid overeating, which could lead to fatalities. Here at the farm we givethe chicken cracked corn and special feed that is cormecially made which is administered accoding to age and purpose of the chicken that is either egg appropriate or for protein. We also give grains from the farm to suppliment the food.
